Born in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Sailor, soldier, teacher of thirty-one years, trustee, Scoutmaster, quartermaster — and the foundation of this family. He taught by day, worked security by night, served on weekends, and never missed a graduation. His last words to Willie Mae were “I love you.”
